Bandhavgarh
National Park
Wild Heritage |
| The
tiger reserve is one of the most
picturesque home of the tiger.
Amidst ruins of ancient civilization, tigers
thrive. This is Bandhavgarh National Park
in Madhya Pradesh, India.
It is a tiger haven where tigers
rule both the forests and ancient
abodes of many dynastic rules that came and vanished
one by one. From the jaws of history the Bengal
tiger emerged victorious. Though endangered
it has a greater chance of survival inside this
tiger reserve than anywhere else.
Of man made structure the temples,
caves and the Fort
are worth visiting, rest are like wall hangings
adorning the landscape – stables, small
caves and shelters. The Sesh Shaiyya
is one the way to the fort on Bandhavgarh
Hill. |

|
It is a fairy tale juncture where Lord
Vishnu reclines besides a fairy pool. A cool
spring, fall, ferns, algae and moss furnish the surroundings
with their freshness and verdant greenery.
A tiger safari in the park transgresses
though tell tale signs of ancient civilization albeit
in ruins. The tiger rules supreme and
is easily seen in Bandhavgarh Wildlife Refuge.
Besides tiger spotted deer,
sambar deer, and barking deer
are seen along with jackal, Hanuman
langurs, rhesus monkey, wild
boar and on rare instances the sloth
bear. Wild dog and leopard
are seen with luck the latter is rarer. |

Bandhavgarh
is a sheer delight and the best season is winters
albeit summers yield better sightings of animals.
The tourism is at peak in winters
especially during the holiday season. The hot
summers are reserved for wildlife photographers
and film makers although the
sturdier lot of some tourists
prefers the sightings over the heat.
At Bandhavgarh National Park tourism
over shoots accommodation during the holiday rush.
There are many hotels
in Bandhavgarh for luxury accommodation.
The wildlife resorts are well equipped
to cater to eco tourism. More hotels and
resorts are being built in the
wildlife refuge for greater option for
accommodation. |
